How can I break his barrier?

Well a new guy just moved into our class n he is quite a strange fellow..a complete loner..no close friends..always serious,sober bt decent as well..!! I had a crush on him n had a chat with him. He was kind n patient but after that he didn't react n didn't look interested...I didn't give up n tried to get closer to him...but he always has this barrier around him. I don't know but I guess m just a sucker for a pretty face!!!! He is completely independent capricorn...cooks,gardens, everything. He would die but not ask for somebody else's help...Most importantly...he loves his solitude n is quite sad as well!!
