Wrongfully terminated ????!!!?

Well I was working as a dish washer at this company Aramark for about a year when I was stopped by the police and brought into jail for a month over tickets . N e ways the next day I sent two people I worked with at the job to go and NOTIFIE the main supervisors about what happened . My fellow co workers told me the bosses said it would be ok. Id receive my job after I was released . So when I finaly came out of jail I found a fed ex letter that stated I was FIRED due to NOT NOTIFYING the proper supervisors . I talked to the superviser and HR about this and they admitted they were notified by my co workers and told me that it had to be myself that notified them . I in turn replyed that I couldnt do so because I was in jail . Then they finaly acknowledged my co workers reporting to them BUT they said that they did not report to the proper supervisors. I told them u are the proper supervisor and the other boss my co workers reported to. My boss then became at a loss for words and told me to go see the union . I went to the union and filed a grievance form . I talked to some one today but so far its a waiting game for the Aramark HR to reply back to the union rep. I was told it could take a while. I don't know what to think.or do . Someone please help . Thank you
