Colon Cancer aggravated by a pulled tooth?

A few months ago my Dad had a tooth pulled then he started to pass blood in his stools..he went to the doctor to find out he may have colon cancer..he had since had the mass in his colon removed..I'm just trying to figure out how getting a tooth pulled is connected?? as well is there any questions he should be asking his doctor? Thanks much :)
